Nazareth Hall Wedding Photography

This Fall wedding at Nazareth Hall in Grand Rapids, OH was wonderful. The outdoor ceremony took place on a sunny afternoon in the Grotto. We spent a quick few minutes making portraits in the woods and then moved inside for the reception. I enjoyed every moment spent with this group of people, who were all so obviously happy to be celebrating this marriage. Here are my favorite photos:

Nazareth Hall is a wedding and event center located in Grand Rapids, Ohio. It was originally built as an all-boy Catholic boarding school in 1927. The brick building is very castle-like in style, and there are multiple ballrooms to choose from for a wedding reception. A charming chapel is also located within the building, and a limestone coral grotto sits at the bottom of the hill, offering two very different options for ceremony settings. Many spacious getting-ready rooms are also available for brides and grooms, and on-site coordinators are extremely helpful in planning and preparing for your big day, along with ensuring things run smoothly day-of. Catering, rentals, and bar packages are also available on-site.

Features for photos:

  • The building's architecture offers a variety of outdoor photo backgrounds, including curved walls and archways. The color of the brick and the outdoor lighting creates a beautiful warm golden tone at sunset and night time, a sought-after situation for flattering skin tones.
  • The grotto also features arches and stone steps leading into the woods, giving a more natural and outdoorsy setting to photos. There are options for every style of wedding here.
  • Indoors, the getting ready suites include old classrooms with chalkboards and rich wood trim or light and bright rooms upstairs with standing mirrors and window light. With natural light and reflective surfaces, artistically photographing real moments in these rooms is a breeze.
